MRI in pregnancy

Hi, has anyone had an mri scan during pregnancy?
Ive been booked in for one on my abdomen due to some organ issues they picked up on from blood tests. The letter states I need to lie face down for the mri but I’ll be 36 weeks pregnant by then so it’ll be impossible to lay on my front or keep still for up to an hour. They’re aware I’m pregnant so I’m shocked they want to do it this late into my pregnancy.
Is it best to delay until baby is born or did you find it bearable? Tia

It will have been a standard letter template for abdominal MRI.

You will not lie flat on your stomach, but on your left side. That is the classic position for pregnant women. Don't delay the MRI. Just be reassured, you won't have to lie on your stomach

Yes I’ve had them in pregnancy and also of my abdomen. You will lie on your side slightly, although depending on what they want to scan it might not be fully on your side but just wedged at a slight angle with the foam cushion thingies. It’s not comfortable I won’t lie. But absolutely do not delay. They only scan in pregnancy if they’re pretty concerned so you should go ahead.

I’ve had them throughout pregnancies and it’s always been fine, agree with the post above that they would delay if they felt they had time to spare so absolutely go
