WFH and endometriosis

Just had my 5th laparoscopy to treat endometriosis and decided to have my coil removed at the same time - mainly because I've been on hormonal contraception since I was 14 (37 now) - my mum has oestrogen positive breast cancer, and so did her mum before her. Just started my period this morning, 28 days after it was removed which was a shock to say the least as I was told I'd have significant issues with ovulation, and the fact I haven't had a 'natural' one since I was 14!

I have two jobs currently but work full-time in total - one job I've been there a very long time and boss is a family friend so knew of issues previously. The newer job I've only met my boss a handful of times in 3 months - she's female and does seem quite open and friendly but I guess I just wanted a polite/appropriate way of describing the issue. She knows I may have to work at home sometimes which is a fine as I do 2 days a week anyway but I kind of want to explain that the pains are still quite severe despite the surgery because I don't have that hormonal treatment back up anymore? Also I need strong painkillers which are no good for driving, etc.

Hopefully I've explained what I mean!
