Painful left breast

sunsunsunsunx · 11/06/2023 17:35

For around the past 4 months, I have had left breast pain. It's not constant and it comes every now and then and it painful when touched, but not every day some days I can press/touch and it's okay but some days it will hurt to touch/press. It's not immediately before my period when it worse but I'd say around 10-14 days before. I suffer from extreme health anxiety and can feel myself spiralling. I know if I see the Gp it will set my health anxiety off but I will make an appointment. I'm just looking for any reassurance. I can't feel any lumps.

Have you tried Evening Primrose capsules, these really help me with my breast pain.

I haven't, but I will try them, thank you

Please visit your GP. I had similar symptoms and it was fluid filled cysts which can be drained very easily. My GP sent me for a mammogram which showed up the cysts. I had no idea these even existed but it was literally a procedure which took seconds to rectify it.

The fact that you say it’s in a pattern 10-14 days or so before your period would indicate it’s hormonal. But I would see your GP. I had pain in one breast, and there were no lumps, mammogram was clear, yet mine was cancer.

@daisypond so sorry to hear that and hope you are doing okay. Was yours painful to touch or press

Not particularly. I had deep stabbing pains on and off.

Get it checked out OP, it's better to be safe than sorry. I don't want to scare you but pain was the first symptom of my breast cancer. I got it checked and I was treated. All is well. You will drive yourself mad otherwise. There are also a gazillion things it might be other than cancer (I had severe health anxiety too, weirdly cancer cured that!).

I had this, OP, and it turned out to be a cyst. The worst thing was waiting to find out because I also delayed it.

Get yourself to the GP. They're there to help. 🥰
