Doxycycline and the sun

I’ve been put on long term doxycycline which is no fun in the summer. I had a course of them last summer and got nasty sunburn while on them.

on Wednesday afternoon I just did the school run and it wasn’t even especially sunny, and my nose got burnt. I had put factor 50 on but it was in the morning. I’m keeping covered up as much as I can and out the sun but I can’t avoid it all summer.

any advice?

I've been on it for the last few years and I've burned only once, when I forgot to put suncream on and was out in the full sun for a few hours.

I usually wear factor 30, factor 50 on my face. Never had a problem.

Sorry page jumped and pressed send when I didn't mean to. I also wear a hat if I'm out in the sun and it's become pretty normal. I'd recommend keeping a spare hat in your car in case you forget.
