I’ve had upper right abdominal pain for the last six weeks. I had an ultrasound last week which found that I had two cysts and a granuloma on my liver.
Has anyone had a granuloma on their liver and, if so, what caused it? The GP was quite vague and was going on about diseases picked up when travelling abroad but I haven’t been to anywhere exotic since I had my first DC almost 13 years ago. In the past year I’ve been to the U.S., Spain and Portugal! I’ve done some Googling and it brings up the most likely cause as TB but I am vaccinated against that and I haven’t had any lung issues (other than my usual asthma).
GP is writing to hospital now for advice as to what to do next. I’ve been told they should take about a week. Meanwhile I’m sat here wondering and fed up of the pain.
Re the cysts, I had an ultrasound four years ago that found one cyst. I was told at the time I was probably born with it but I doubted that as I had an ultrasound when I had gallbladder problems and that didn’t show any cysts. This was one of the reasons I was sent for an ultrasound as when I developed pain GP thought cyst may have grown. Now I have two. And a granuloma which I wasn’t expecting!
