It's been rushed as an emergency
Ovaries, womb and lower tummy being checked
I have a large bulging lump on the left
Haven't had a period since I fell pregnant with ds in Jan 2021 (still breastfeeding him to sleep)
To begin with I thought it was an onion intolerance and was treated with ibs medications but it's not helping and after an exam doc can feel the swelling
All bloods normal
Urine, stool and STI all fine

Had a traumatic birth. Rushed into surgery haemorrhaging near death 17hrs post birth for retained placenta so maybe complication from that? Did a bi

So I think they are looking for ovarian cysts, pcos, endemetriosis etc?

My questions are (if they see something)
What is it
Treatments
Infertility

Should I ask anything else? Sorry I'm by my self and suddenly hit the nerves

Handhold here.

I had a left ovary removed due to a huge ovarian cyst. Was still fertile amd had 2 kids after that.

Obviously yours could be anything, but it usually turns out fine. I hooenyou her answers soon.

Good luck, hopefully this will rule out anything sinister. Flowers

twoandcooplease · 08/06/2023 15:34

@Vintagecreamandcottagepie could you feel it on the outside? Every 4/5 weeks or so it swells up and I'm waddling about like I'm pregnant. The right side is swollen too but not as bad
@Thisismyluckyday
Thank you both
I am embarrassed that I've not been able to leave my house for a while because I can't wear clothes and the weather has been cold. Everything I need I have delivered and even have my mum take ds to his toddler classes. I've started managing once a day to go to the park but that's no life for a developing toddler

I have one healthy ds who is my life and if I can't have any more I'm so fulfilled with the 1 I have but it will be upsetting. I would so much rather be able to go out and enjoy being a mum to my ds over the life I have just now. I'm only 29 and living like I'm in lockdown

Good luck OP. Just try to listen and don’t feel silly to ask them to repeat something, or explain something differently, or just say “what does that mean?”

twoandcooplease · 08/06/2023 15:39

I think once they say 'we can see XYZ'
I just need to then take note of that and do lots of looking it up when I come out?

I feel like I need help to even put one foot in front of the other

My worst case scenario is to come away knowing nothing

When I called the gp for bloods and stool results and the receptionist said 'yep all fine' I about dropped off my seat confused. I really expected them to find something

I really appreciate you all replying @Hazelnuttella thank you so much I won't forget this support. Replying is helping me not look at the clock. Although I'm typing it not thinking

One of my friends found out she was pregnant while being scanned to look for an ovarian cyst, then found out she was pregnant again a year later when being scanned as a pre-op to remove the ovarian cyst. So cysts are definitely not guaranteed to cause infertility.

Good luck OP, I hope the US identifies the problem and that it's something easily resolvable.

twoandcooplease · 08/06/2023 17:27

Hi everyone thank you for your support x

Everything was fine on the scan. Womb and right ovary normal, no scarring or post pregnancy complications. Had an internal scan to check the left ovary as she couldn't see it hiding behind my bowel but it was there and looked normal too

I talked through my symptoms with her and she asked if I'd been examined down below and mentioned being checked for a prolapse
I'm not sure prolapse what kind of prolapse

I called the gp and my female doctor is going to phone me on Monday to slot me in to have a look. Hoping she can help some more as I'm at a loss and not sure what to google next

But it really really meant so much to have you all with me today - thank you xxx

Thanks for updating OP. So glad they didn’t find anything worrying and good that you’re seeing the GP. Hope you get some answers soon.
