Gallstones? When to seek help!

I think I've got gallstones. Pain under ribs, mainly on right, extending round the back.
Lots of wind and really awful bloating.

It started at about 4pm on Tuesday. Got a little bit of sleep eventually last night. Was just a small pain for most of yesterday, until about 3pm when it started ramping up again. Can't get comfy, can't sleep. Have had paracetamol and buscopan. Been sick. Awful bloating and wind!

All of this is confused by the fact I have IBD - don't know which sort yet. Had been on wonderful steroids for 4 months, which solved all problems, and came off onto octasa last week.

I can call IBD nurse tomorrow, but am not sure whether I need to do anything tonight as the pain is pretty bad and I feel shocking. From reading other threads, it seems that's fairly normal for gallstones? I can't work out what I need to do. Any advice please?

Probably best to get checked out, I had gallstones and had several attacks. Usually worse at night and I honestly thought I was dying!

Eventually ended up in A&E as I couldn’t cope with the pain. Turned out I had an infection in my gallbladder caused by tiny stones acting as sludge blocking it. I was in hospital on IV antibiotics for a week.

Since I had it removed however I’ve been perfectly fine.

As previous poster . You need to get an ultra sound to confirm weather you have them or not .

Thank you @Biscuitandacuppa. That sounds quite grim. Glad you made a full recovery!

I will give 111 a call. Better to be on the safe side. Thank you!

Agree - I'd ask advice - any fever or anything?
