Is it normal for it to last this long?
I woke up with a horrendously sore throat out of nowhere 12 days ago. For the first 3 days I could barely open my mouth, yawning and swallowing was so painful and the pain woke me up every few minutes through the night. Painkillers barely touched it. But after 3 days it was a lot more bearable and has stayed the same since.
I have had no other symptom, not even a runny nose.
It just occurred to me that it's been 12 days, NHS website says to see a doctor if not better after a week. I suppose it's better than the first 3 days so maybe it's OK? But it still red and hurts a little, is it normal?
I've never had a virus last more than a day or two so this is annoying!
