Ingrowing toenail removal

I'm due to have my big toenail removed later this week and just wondered what to expect, what the recovery time is like, discomfort levels, how often the dressing needs changing, and what footwear people would recommend. I'm nervous about this in a way that seems out of proportion to me, so would appreciate any reassurance, information or advice. Thanks!

I have had mine done twice, I was advised not to have the chemical to stop it growing back the first time because I was pregnant. The procedure and recovery were so easy compared to walking around with the pain of ingrown toenails. Within a fortnight my feet felt great, even though the nails didn't look too pretty. I think I only had the big bandage they put on it on for a couple of days, but it was a while ago so I can't remember. You will definately need open toe shoes while the big bandage is on.

Good luck OP, you will be absolutely fine.

Ds had one done a few years back. Iirc he wore sandals afterwards and it was dressing free after a few days. Think it was checked by a nurse for healing,
