Hi, just looking for some advice on what to do!
2 weeks ago I was knocked off my feet by a very fast and very strong, muscular dog.
he came towards me and ran at my legs, which meant I fell very heavily forward.
I was winded, and my side hurt, but otherwise I was ok and thought it was nothing.
ive had severe rib pain ever since, just on my left side, it hurts when I cough, sneeze, etc and I have to really firmly hold my side when i need to cough.
I can’t even poo ( sorry, tmi) as the pushing hurts like crazy, and it just seems to be getting worse, not better. I’ve left it 2 weeks as I thought it would get better, but it feels worse!
This evening the bruising is finally showing on my body, is this a good sign?
I can’t go to a&e because it’s been 2 weeks, we don’t have an urgent care or walk in place, so if I sought medical help it would be via my GP or speak to a pharmacist.
im just worried it’s a cracked or broken rib, I know they can’t do anything, even if it is, but pain killers are having no effect and I can’t go on with such pain.
if it’s just a bruised rib ( which I’ve been told can be hugely painful anyway) then at least I’ll know.
for context I have a pacemaker , and I’m also slightly concerned if my rib has cracked then has something happened to that?

my husband is wonderful but every time I wince or say ouch he just looks at me now as he can’t understand what to do to help! Even sitting down, it hurts when I get up.
has anyone had a bruised/ cracked or broken rib? Is there anything I can do?
thank you, in advance
sorry for the essay!

Go to a&e - you absolutely can go after 2 weeks - esp as things are getting worse not better.

I thought this was my mum's post with the first sentence as she's still suffering 2 weeks after being knocked off her feet by a big dog, and I've spent part of the day trying to convince her to seek professional advice.
I second the poster above, you can go to A&E, and I would advise you do so. Might be worth calling 111 first to see if you can get an UTC appt for first thing tomorrow though, in my local a&e the night staff seem to just keep people in a holding pattern until day staff arrive to actually do things.
