Quick question: DS1 (5yo) has been sick about 8 times today, seemed to stop about mid-afternoon, so he had some tea.....

...and was sick again, but now he is crying because he is hungry, he is refusing dry toast, and we don't have digestives in the house.

Is there anything else he can eat that might stay down?

Any crackers. I would just give him what he feels like eating.
Hope he feels better soon.

nannyjo · 20/02/2008 20:16

i think anything he eats is going to bounce by the sound of it poor thing. I think the docs would say not to eat but make sure he has plenty of fluids but that doesn't help him feel any better.

Hope he gets better soon.

Don't give him anything but rehydrant drinks for 24 hours.

NatalieJane · 20/02/2008 20:18

He is being sick just after a few sips of water.

He hasn't kept a single thing down today, solid or liquid.

just really small sips of water. Is he tired? Best thing would be try to get some sleep for a bit. poor thing

nannyjo · 20/02/2008 20:37

if you feed him then you feed the bug too so it goes on for longer.

NatalieJane · 20/02/2008 20:37

I think you might be right, thanks all

Our GP always said to feed if they wanted to eat and the bug goes on longer theory is a myth

we were told to avoid dairy but lots of clear fluids (including squash and lemonade but avoid pure juice) and bland food

How about some dry cereal?

Ice lollies, ice pops and ice cubes are good too, so are jellies
