Pain in thigh?

Hello. As it's Saturday and I can't go to the GP, can anyone give some advice?

About 10 days ago I did some exercises and after that had slight pain in my right thigh on the side. It eased off but didn't go completely and didn't bother me. This week I've been away and did loads of walking but thigh wasn't too bad. Last night the pain increased a lot and this morning it's really hurting. Nothing to see but it's sore at rest but much worse when I walk. Its actually really painful but I can't tell if it's muscular or something else.

Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks.

I have hip problems and usually feel the pain through my thigh (doesn't feel muscular, it's more deep than that like it's the actual bone that's painful!), rather than in the hip itself.

Thanks @elevenplusdilemma. That's sort of how it feels. It's on the side of my thigh and if I twist my leg outwards it's incredibly painful. I'm getting worried now though. I have health anxiety and I'm going straight to bone cancer of course.

@moggo - book a GP appointment for next week. It's highly unlikely to be bone cancer but could well be a hip problem such as bursitis, some sort of injury or even the beginning of osteoarthritis. An anti-inflammatory painkiller may help for now (Ibuprofen). Take regularly rather than wait until the pain ramps up.
If the pain becomes unbearable before you can see the GP, your local minor injuries unit will probably be able to help.

Thanks @elevenplusdilemma. It's eased off with ibuprofen but is still painful.
