Saw specialist yesterday. My boy is only 20 and is really struggling, has been for moths now. Had suspected IBS or Chrones but specialist seems sure it’s ibs. Right at the start of this fight to try and get him on a more even keel and clueless. Want to send him sone probiotics but the best I can - any info or help is appreciated. I’m just beyond gutted for him - hated leaving him yesterday

I always used to drink a Yakult or Actimel (the chilled yoghurt drinks) first thing in the morning -used to keep things a bit calmer. With experimentation I found that a few mornings a week would be okay, as opposed to every day.

(depending on shared fridges in his situation, of course)

I’ve had ibs since I was 19 (now 42) and these are the only ones I’ve ever found that have helped me -

I also find fybogel sachets really help me, even though I was terrified to take them at first because I have sudden bouts of diarrhoea and thought it would make them worse but it’s actually just bulked everything out and made everything more regular. I do have a lot of other health issues though (lupus, Addisons and all sorts) and take painkillers so my gut may just be sluggish due to that now (although that’s more of a recent thing for me).
