Pain in left shoulder blade

I have had a pain in my left shoulder blade for about a month now, doctors prescribed some anti viral tablets and thought it could be shingles without the rash but the pain is still there. It is in the left shoulder blade and feels prickly, not very painful but just annoying. Does anyone know what it could be or has had this before ?

Trapped nerve? Have a sports or remedial massage to see if that helps…

Does change with breathing? If so, request a chest X-ray.

No my chest feels fine @TappingTed its not painful it’s more of a prickly annoying pain! The only way I can describe it as if your back has been rubbed for too long and you get that prickly/burning pain

Have you had a cold/flu or anything recently? Any other symptoms? Is your breathing ok? Only I had a similar pain in my shoulder which turned out to be referred pain from pleurisy.

@ChrisPPancake I feel absolutely fine, no cold or anything like that, my breathing is fine! I had the exact same pain in the same shoulder blade back in 2018 which went away with anti virals but this time I’ve had the anti virals and it’s still there :( got another doctors appointment but not until the 28th June!

Could it possibly be acid reflux or indigestion. I get creeping feelings in my skin and weird pains caused by acid, but it tends to be between my shoulder blades.

@Lovestodrinkmilk i don’t think so, when you touch the skin around it it feels irritated too but there’s nothing there no rash or anything

I had left shoulder blade and upper back pain from gastritis. Including weird pins and needles and tingly sensations.

@LobeliaSackville did you have any other symptoms?
