Had it put in 2 weeks ago. Was told I wouldn't have side effects as bad as the pill. But oh my god, I feel like shit.
So hormonal, emotional and irritable.
Any positive stories please? This is a last resort for birth control. 😢

Hi, I’ve had mine in almost 2 years due to heavy periods. The first few months I was a miserable cow, bleeding on and off constantly too. Since about month 3 I haven’t had any issues, no bleeding whatsoever (unless I get cramps I don’t even know I’m on)
I had a scan last month and mine is still in place too. So all good news here.

Although my sister in law had hers out after 6 months because her hormones were really bad, but she has had that with the implant too so I think she doesn’t get on with much.

It’s only been 2 weeks so give it some time and see how it settles down.

I've had 2 and it's my go to contraception it does take a couple of months to settle but once it does I don't have any issues.

Thank you for the replies and positivity.
With the pill I spotted for 6 months, looking likely with this too! The moods are really hard!
