Still bleeding 6 months after implant

'Evening all.

DD had the contraceptive implant 6 months ago nearly. She is still bleeding most days which varies from spotting to a reasonable period type amount of bleeding. We go on holiday in a couple of weeks and she really doesn't want to be bleeding while away

I did an econsult with our GP and they said they wont give any other form of progesterone only medicine so here is a script for tranexamic acid.

Problem is, TXA can only be taken for 5 days so not sure what she is expected to do for the other 9 days and TXA has never stopped her bleeding before.

Am going to be doing another econsult tomorrow. Does anyone have any experience of bleeding on the implant and what can be done to help stop the bleeding. TIA

Medication from docs will stop it. She'll probs be prescribed an oral tablet for a week.

I bled constantly on the implant. Had it taken out after 7 months

I’m eight months in and still bleeding. Want to get it removed but there’s a three month wait list here!
