Help
i swallowed a really hot chip Monday and as it went down I realised how hot it was and it hurt Took my breath away

now when I eat and swallow anything - food or drink - it really hurts behind my breast bone It doesn’t hurt as I swallow but once it hits there it’s agony

anyone experience this? I have been to doctor 4 times this week with the kids and a foot issue so really don’t want to have to spend more money going ahead

love anyone who had similar and what they did to help?

I had this. The doctor recommended gargling with soluble paracetamol before swallowing it and it really helped as did a numbing spray.
he did say to seek help immediately if it felt swollen or I was having trouble swallowing however

I had this when a tablet (doxycycline) got stuck and burned into my esophageus. It was agony for days. I found soluble paracetamol helped and liquid gaviscon. Took about a week or so to stop wincing every time I swallowed.

Now I take tablets with a very very large glass of water.

Like @Bluebells1970, I also had a Doxycycline get stuck once and burn my oesophagus...ohh the pain! It should get better over the next few days, maybe eat some ice cream?

Thank you all
i am assuming it’s something that heals normally? I’m due out for dinner on Friday and the thought of wincing as I try to eat and drink doesn’t appeal
