Hideous tummy bug?

Has anyone else had this?

DH came down with it a few weeks ago. It took ages to spread to one DC and then a few more days to spread to the other dcs. I've now got it and it's horrible.

D&V and shivery fever. I have had to take to my bed this evening as did DH when he had it and neither of us do that very often. One of the DCs was in bed for about three days! The worst thing for me is the aches and pains. It's really painful and can't get comfy.

Wondered if we were just the lucky ones or if it's doing the rounds?

The other thing is how long it is lasting! DH and dcs seemed to have it for 4-5 days. Usually tummy bugs are vile and then we're ok after a day or two

Covid?

IWonderWhereThatDishDidGo · 31/05/2023 18:30

We've all tested for COVID and it says negative. I may test again tomorrow though.

No coughing or anything like that though, just d&v but going on and on. Whatever it is, it's horrible

Strange you say that, one of my team has been off with this kind of thing for two weeks!

Maybe there is a horrible bug going round.

Please lord I don't want it 😩 I have had my fair share this year already.

I'm on my second full day in bed. On and off fever, horrible tummy cramps, very frequent diarrhoea. Haven't really eaten for 3 days. Feel really shit and keep thinking I might cry (not like me).
Also negative for covid.
Wonder if it's the same?

IWonderWhereThatDishDidGo · 31/05/2023 19:13

@Just2MoreSeasons that does sound really similar!

My mood is fine, but DH was not good when he had it. He has anxiety anyway, but he was really, really depressed with it.

Fingers crossed for you @Mommasgotabrandnewbag! Hope you don't get it

We had a bug like this pass through school a few weeks ago. About 20% of the school had it - apparently people felt horrific.

Just2MoreSeasons · 31/05/2023 19:39

This is all very interesting. We have hens and I thought maybe I have campylobacter even though I always wash my hands well.

Would hate to think we all will get it. My dd has exams coming up- there's no way I could even get to an exam room right now never mind think straight.

You're right my mood is low. I've had it for two and a half days and kept thinking I'll be over it any minute.
I even have a long awaited photographer coming to the house tomorrow to get a family picture done (it's a free offer and time limited) and I so want to go ahead with it. I'm even worrying how I might be able to shower and dry my hair. One good thing, my stomach is much flatter than usual.

Oh bless you! Hope you feel better soon!
I've not had it personally, but I've seen a few facebook posts from some of my friends who've come down with it. Seems to last longer than a regular tummy bug 🙁
