Endometriosis bleeding advice

ElmtreeMama · 31/05/2023 08:38

Background is I have endometriosis, endometriomas a large cyst and suspected adenomyosis.

I'm on the waiting list for endometriomas and cyst removal.

My DD is 18 months and still BF if that makes any difference.

Anyway I am now bleeding every day! Like a heavy period every day, changing pad every 2/3hours, often long jelly like clots. Drained and fed up of it all, this has been the case for the last past 5 months (no bleeding at all for 13 months following birth of DD).

Has anyone experienced similar and what helped, I'm going to discuss hormonal contraception with my GP but am very overweight and over 35.

Any solidarity or advice would be much appreciated.

The GP can prescribe tranexamic acid to help reduce/stop bleeding. You really should speak to GP asap as it’s likely you are anaemic.

Norethisterone or Provera could give you a break but don't know if you can still breast feed.

Get your iron checked.

Sorry I should have said I have been prescribed iron a couple of months ago! Still feeling rubbish even though my levels are now back in normal range.
Thanks, I've phoned today for a routine appt which is in 5 weeks time.
