I have a set of long term conditions that have lasted for fifteen years. Because of this, I spend most of the time in bed and only go downstairs a couple of times each day.

Six weeks ago, DH had a fall and has been in bed with me ever since. He usually looks after everything, cooks, shops, drives etc. Now, we are relying on our autistic son, who is doing the shopping and cooking basic meals.

We are kind of managing and have started to try to get more help. The GP has been in touch and we have physios visiting. We also have a list of people to contact.

The reason I am writing is that my mental health is collapsing and this is making my illness worse. I have managed to go downstairs more often and do some of the basic jobs. But DH has an MRI scan on Monday and I am really terrified to find out that there might be something dreadfully wrong with him.

We have no wider family support and I can barely function. DH called an ambulance yesterday because I had a severe panic attack. Can anyone hold my hand, please?

Hand hold here. Sounds a very stressful situation. Just try and make things as easy as possible. Easy meals - like soup and sandwiches. Housework can wait.
Hope you get some help x

Thank you so much! Yes, we are trying to simplify things. DH is a good cook, so we are a bit spoiled, but we are now living off ready meals, bought by DS.

I am just praying that the MRI results are positive.
