UTI

How bad can the pain from a UTI be? I did a home test this evening and it was positive.

I have pain all over my stomach at tummy button height and it's really 10/10. I'm trying to work out if I need to wake up DH to take me to hospital or not.

If it's just the UTI I can get antibiotics tomorrow morning. If it's appendicitis I think it will have burst by then.

Paracetamol does help a bit. But I'm at 4 g in the last 13 hours.

Really really uncomfortable but if you are having doubts that it could be appendicitis I wouldn't risk leaving it. Do you have other UTI or appendicitis symptoms?

It doesn't burn when I pee but it never does with past UTI. The pain was so bad in March that I thought I must have an intestinal blockage. That's when I was diagnosed with the first UTI. But I'd had milder pain for years. I'd thought it was linked to IBSd.

Standing is painful. Everything is. Right now the paracetamol are working and it's more comfortable laid flat than fetal.

I'm not tender over my appendix. It's below my tummy button but central. It's stops a hands width above my pelvis.

It doesn't hurt in my back so not kidneys.

NHS says about appendicitis "Appendicitis typically starts with a pain in the middle of your tummy (abdomen) that may come and go. Within hours, the pain travels to your lower right-hand side, where the appendix is usually located, and becomes constant and severe. Pressing on this area, coughing, or walking may all make the pain worse."

So I suppose it could be appendicitis?

Thanks that's actually reassuring. Ive had the pain for 24 hours but it's getting worse and hasn't travelled to appendix. Right I'm going to try and sleep again.

Thanks all.

Hi all,
I am 37 weeks and have had a course of antibiotics for UTI, the next sample my midwife sent also came back positive for the bacteria (less than before), at home
strips testing positive for white blood cells. I have had no symptoms the whole time except frequent urination which is y normal during pregnancy . Anyone else had this before any impact on the baby?
