Abnormal blood results. Really worried.

I had an annual medical test with work and I've had some abnormal results relating to platelets. I'm seeing my GP tomorrow for an unrelated thing to do with a problem with my knee, but didn't sleep last night and am really worried, so if any doctors can tell me what my results mean and if I need to worry, I'd be really grateful.

The bloods have been done in Spain, so hopefully I've got the names right, but these are the abnormal results - Anisocytosis is 20.4 fl (normal range 9.5-16), MPV is 13fl (normal is 7.5-12.5) and large platelet index is 48.4% (normal range 17.5-42.5). Everything else on the blood test is normal.

I stupidly googled and am so anxious now. Was really worried last night and now DP is upset and worried too. He's going to come to the docs with me tomorrow, so nothing gets lost in translation.

I am not a health care person and I don't recognise all those words but I had high MPV and high MCH and I had an anaemia related to low vitB12 and low folate

Thanks for answering. I hope it's something like that and not terrible things I saw on google. Are you ok and back to normal levels now?

Yes all fine. Good luck with your appointment and I hope all is well!

I have often had abnormal blood results... but on second testing a while later they have usually resolved. Try not to worry (until there is actually something to worry about!).
