Please help I’m worried ! Been having funny stomach pains and burning between my shoulder blades and burping allot (sometimes struggling to burp and need to) got tested for hpylori and positive and had bloods . (On antibiotics now for the hpylori) Bloods shows platelets count of 448 so they want to re do in a month. I’m scared cos with hpylori your platelets normally go up when it’s gone so why are they high now ?! I’m scared I’ve got cancer or something ! Dr google isn’t good but I can’t help it ! I keep thinking I got eusophuhus cancer or some kind of stomach cancer . I’m 37 and sick of this worry !

It’s only slightly elevated (and from memory would actually be in the normal reference range in some places) - it’s a very sensible first step to repeat in a month, by which point it’s most likely to come down. Elevated platelets can occur in a number of scenarios including recent infections. Don’t panic!

Thank you @Crabbity im just concerned because it says once the hpylori infection has gone platelets normally rise so I’m worrying there going to go up even more . I’m making myself unwell with worry x

Mine are slightly elevated as well but the normal range at my docs is up to 450. I had 466 and 460, I have to go again after 2 months to check again.

Don’t google!
