Funny looking mole on head (TW: picture)

I’ve been able to feel this mole/squishy thing growing on my scalp for the last couple of years. I was at the hairdressers the other day and she said it looked much bigger than before. I’ve managed to take a picture of it and I think it looks strange. Should I get it checked out? Funnily enough my mum has a similar looking mole in exactly the same place on her head and has been told several times it’s nothing to worry about which is why I’ve ignored it up until now.

I have similar. I don' think it's a mole, but rather a wart or growth. I've had mine checked by a dermatologist who said just to leave it, even though it is unsightly.
