Infected finger

My son's finger has swollen up at the end, it's bright red (apart from the 'wick' which has swollen like a white blister) and it hurts when it's touched.

Apparantly his teacher told him to tell to pop it??

Thing is he is due to go on a trip tomorow with school and he's been looking foward to it for months, I can't make him miss it.

I'm assuming its going to need anti-biotics but I can't get him to the doctor until tomorow night, will he be ok until then? Anything I should do myself?

hi, I cant believe the teacher said that!!!! If you cant get him until docs until tomorrow then it will have to be ok! Only thing would advise is if he going anywhere with school that he is likely to be getting his hands dirty then maybe give a few plasters or something to his teacher and ask them to keep it clean and covered or use antiseptic wipe can the school nurse not take a look?
