Calprotectin result

Hi

I’m freaking out a bit. I started a thread last week after having some stomach pains and blood in stool. Both of which have subsided.
I went to the doctors earlier this week and they ordered a calprotectin test, FIT test and blood tests.

My doctor called me today and said the calprotectin result was 269 and they are now referring me to an IBD team at hospital. No news on my FIT test yet but I’m an anxious mess.
I have (as always) googled and I’ve read a few things where it says a lower abnormal result like mine can be more indicative of bowel cancer rather than IBD which can be into the 1000’s and that has made me ten times worse.
I have health anxiety, I’m in my early 30’s with a young child and I’m so anxious and worried. 😥

Has anyone had a similar result and it was okay?

Hi @SB1712 just come across your thread and experiencing similar!

What was your outcome in the end?

I’m going through similar however had no blood in stool just elevated calprotectin at 275, my blood tests were normal as was my stool sample.
Googling is the worst thing to do, trust me I know because I also suffer with health anxiety:/
I’m 31 and have 3 young children so that makes me feel even more scared
given our age it’s more then likely either chromes or UC
my gastroenterologist never even mentioned the C word.
could be an infection, celiac, food intolerance etc even a stomach bug.
im due to do another calprotectin test at the end of this week to see where my numbers are and if still elevated will need a possible colonoscopy.
I hope your ok and got answers
