Wtf is going round atm??

I've had this mental cold for over a week now and it only seems to be getting worse. Bright green snot and lots of it gone through 3 boxes of tissues in a week, migraine- like headaches, glands are up and swollen, ears hurt, and a nasty cough bringing up lots of phlegm. Daughter threw up on the way to the childminders this morning. Wtf is it I've never felt so rough

Dh and I have just had this but both tested negative. Weird virus whatever it was, I'm still shattered from it.

Has anyone had a really bad headache lasting more than a couple of days?

I had this the week before last. Raging temp the works. Covid negative, so I just put it down to flu / run down. Hope everyone feels better soon.

I lost my taste/smell for 4 days due to the sheer amount of mucus. Also strangely but for two weeks before I got the sore throat I had this weird burning feeling in my chest area, thought it might be stomach/acid causing the burning but now think it may have been related to this virus.

OMG so glad I found this thread. I'm into week 3 of this and it's vile. I can't breathe properly and finally got to speak to a GP who has sent me to A&E! It's ridiculous- if I could actually see a gp in person they could listen to my chest but no here I am in a&e, as they have to rule out a PE. Which I don't have it's just a fuckin virus. So I'll be here all night to be told take paracetamol, meanwhile I'm adding to the pressure on NHS.

So glad I found this thread I have had the worse pain in my throat I have ever had including tonsillitis when I was a teenager! Cannot swallow saliva blocked up nose ,swollen glands ,hoarse voice and absolutely knackered. Am taking my first day off sick for years ! Sore throat started over a week ago and am woken up with the pain. X3 Ibuprofen,x1 Cocodamol ,throat lozengers . Saw GP today and now prescribed Penicillin V incase it’s a strep infection . Grim 😫

Anybody else had a throat feeling like it's closing up, glands the size of eggs and 3mm wide white blisters on their tongue and their inner lip?

I'm not a fan. Especially when I tried to take two paracetamol (one at a time, I'm not stupid) and it felt like they were wedged in the back of my throat for three hours afterwards.

Oh, and I sound more like Les Dawson than anybody else. At this rate, I'm going to buy a floral tabard and start hoiking my bosom up when somebody I disapprove of walks past my desk.

Caught it off my DGC who thankfully only had a cough and snotty nose for a few days with it. I'm on day 25 of it here. After 4 days I had a good but snotty day and thought I was on the mend but it keeps making another onslaught. Every time I think I'm on the mend it flares back up waking me at 5am with cement nostrils and phelghm. So fed up. DH has it too and same trajectory. Luckily I basically quarantined the first week and my older teen Dc seem to have swerved it. Fed up eating porridge and drinking herbal tea. Sometimes my chest feels so tight. Total lost month!

It's the first RSV/Cold I've had since before the pandemic. I reckon I lost any immunity I'd built up over the years as I now WFH and don't have money to go out anymore due to COL and live quite a cloistered life.

Ah I don't feel so bad now. I've had a headache since Friday, have defo had more snot than usual and thought I was getting ill. Then thought hay fever. Basically this headache can f off and I want to sleep for a week. I'm due on my period Sunday and feel like I'm just waiting for that and trying not to lose my rag in the meantime.

3 out of 4 of us have the bright green snot and blocked sinuses bug. Mine started last Monday. And with most colds it's usually over after 10 days, but this one won't fuck off and the snot situation is not even improving slightly!

Luckily we're all well apart from the ridiculous amounts of snot, it's more an annoyance than anything else!

Better today apart from the snot! We can breathe again though!

My throat is feeling slightly better and not taking life threatening amounts of Ibuprofen and Co codamol, am thinking the ANTIBIOTICS have made a difference. Stilll coughing when drinking.

I'm just exhausted - most cold symptoms gone now just so so tired.

I ended up with antibiotics as was coughing up bloody green phlegm. GP said my chest sounded 'not terrible but not great'. 🤷‍♀️ It's never ever happened to me before, GP said oh it's just being around kids, you pick up everything - but I've been teaching for years and years. I felt truly awful and was so tired. Antibiotics seem to have kicked the worst of it although still coughing and slightly breathless.

I’ve had all the sinus symptoms but no snot at all, sinuses clear now but 12 days in and I still have a tight chest/ feeling of breathlessness when I take a breath and a tickly cough which is worse at night.

I'm 9 days in still have a bad cough and tireness bunged up nose.. its miserable.

Is anyone getting bad headaches? I’m wondering if it’s because of the warmer weather? Had one every day this week.

@C1239 the headaches are what's bugging me the most, I can't move my head without it thumping

How long have you had it for @BettyHumpter ? Must be some kind of bug I guess

I had this it was covid, you need to test everyday to see if it's covid, not just once or twice and even then there's a 20 per cent chance it will give you a false negative
