Wisdom tooth removal pain

I had my lower right wisdom tooth removed on Wednesday. It’s now Sunday. I’ve been in a lot of pain-constant pain killers. I’m not usually a painkiller taker tbh but I’ve had to keep taking them since Wednesday to keep on top of the pain. It started bleeding on Friday but it stopped after about 10 mins and I chewed on the gauze packing they gave me. The swelling has been quite bad but has today reduced on the outside. I can’t see any signs of infection so hoping this is all normal (still very swollen in side my mouth so can’t see well). When do I need to seek medical help? I’m just feeling so miserable with it, I have just got over having covid so feeling sorry for myself.

How did it go? I’m 2 weeks post and it’s still hurting

I had my lower wisdom tooth removed under a general anaesthetic. It took around 5 weeks to heal. Apparently the older you get the harder the bone is, hence the longer recovery time.

Hi, I’d say the first 3 weeks were pretty rough and I didn’t eat on that side of my mouth for over a month! I didn’t end up with an infection, thankfully-salt water helped I imagine. It was honestly a lot worse than I was expecting tbh but all healed and sorted now thankfully. Thanks for asking x

Don’t worry @Deedoo like I said it took about 3 weeks for my pain to ease. Really hope you feel better soon x
