Bowel cancer (or anal fissure?) worries (TMI)

So I know that only a doctor can answer these questions, but it's Sunday and I'm getting worked up.

Last night I noticed my anus felt a bit weird, not itchy, I just noticed an odd feeling. This morning I had to strain to go to the toilet, it was painful and there was a bit of blood and now I have lower stomach cramps and my anus feels a bit sore.

I'll book a doctors appointment tomorrow, but I wondered if anyone had similar symptoms? ☹️ I'm already falling down the Google rabbit hole...

I’ve had similar when I’ve had food poisoning or a tummy bug.

Was the blood fresh, bright red? What were the stools like? Are you a bit constipated?

Ask GP for a full blood count. Anaemia will show up if problems. Insist on a colonoscopy on the two week cancer pathway if you are very worried but tbh it sounds like piles but better to put your mind at rest. I had stage 3 bc and basically no symptoms at all. Was found by luck with a vigilant GP.

Thanks for your replies... I didn't look too closely but it looked red... I don't feel constipated, just achey cramps and a bit sore.

I would think it’s more likely to be an upset tummy especially if this has only just come on. Try not to worry, drink lots of water and ring the doctor in the morning.

Sorry to be blunt bur was there a soft bit of skin sticking out that could be pushed back in? Then it is piles. The pain is burning and the blood is fresh. Bc blood tends to be dark but please do not that put you off seeing your GP. First step is bloods. My iron levels had dropped to 2 when I was diagnosed but strangely I didnt feel too bad!
