Cysts on ovaries

Hi Mumsnetters, I went for a private scan today to put my mind at ease after a recent blood test showed a liver enzymes was elevated. Long story short, the pelvic part of the scan showed cysts on both ovaries. The sonographer didn’t seem concerned about the left one but she said there was some “stiffness” to the right one and asked me to book back in either through nhs or private in two months after my period as it’s the best time to see it.

anyone else been in this position before? Any medics have any advice or insight into this and how worried I should be?

thank you for reading, trying not to worry and keep some perspective but am a bit nervous about it all.

I’ve always been a ‘cysty’ person and have them on my ovaries as well as other places. They’ve only ever caused an issue once when one large one ruptured and cause a bit of pain

@Bluelightbaby have you had to go back in before after a scan to monitor a cyst?

Yes VERY typical to have cysts during reproductive years. If there are many many many cysts a person may have poly cystic ovaries but it is normal to have some cysts.
