Laxido help!

Dd8 suffers now and again constipation. GP prescribed Laxido previously for these occasions.

This week she was quite constipated.
She had one laxido satchet Thursday evening and after a few soft and watery no.2s she soiling herself about 6/7 times in just over 24 hours whilst running back & fore to the toilet. I know it's clearing her out & I knew to expect of accidents but as she only needed the one , how long does it take before the side affects wear off? and how long to make no.2s more solid ?
Thankyou

I'm theory it should be a stool softener and so shouldn't be this drastic.

However, it does the same for my kid too, I'm afraid it took a few weeks to get back to normal last time we tried it. We now say no to Laxido and ask for an alternative!!

Is it actually clearing out or is watery it leakage round the blockage ?

Laxido is very good it seems to work quickly and well, she should settle after a few more hours. Sometimes if I take too much this happens but it does settle and hopefully she will feel much better after

In future try Fybogel instead of Laxido. It’s much more gentle. I have constipation caused by painkiller use for lupus and I’ve used both and find Fybogel just swings me back into regularity rather than running to the toilet with laxido!

She's had big no.2 a few hours after so defo cleared
The blockage and now loose ones with a bit watery.
It's the accidents she more embarrassed about bless her. and I'm
Making sure she's eating stuff to help her firm them up and plenty of water. It's been 48 hours nearly so hoping it's not long now x

Bless her! Movicol used to do the same to my dd.

Give her things like eggs on toast to bung her up a bit
