This might be lengthy so I apologise in advance. Let me start by saying I have really bad health anxiety so the waiting for results is making me so much more ill.

I’ve been having symptoms for a year or so that I’ve put down to other things but then in March and since I’ve been having horrendous symptoms. Weakness on my right side, numbness and tingles in my limbs, face and head, confusion and forgetfulness, hand spasms, dizziness and the last month headaches.

my old doctors kept fobbing me off saying I was fine, I ended up in a&e in March where the doctor said I could possibly have MS. Now everything made sense. I ended up moving GP’s and finally got a doctor who listened to me and sent me for tests! I’ve since seen that all the symptoms of MS can also be symptoms of a brain tumour, so now I’m absolutely sure I have one.

I had my MRI 7 days ago and still haven’t got the results. I feel so bloody sick to my stomach, all day every day is a constant state of panic waiting for a phone call.

how long after your mri did you get your results and was it bad or good news? Also if anyone has had a brain tumor what symptoms did you have?

thanks in advance x

Hey I’m sorry to hear of your health worries
im sure if anything sinister or worrying has been found on your MRI you would have heard by now. So take no news as good news. X

Hi @Tylarae7, I'm so sorry that you've been dealing with these symptoms for such a long time without any support from your GP.

I'm assuming that your new GP ordered blood tests and reviewed those before sending you for an MRI? If yes, do you happen to know what your B12 levels were? I ask because a couple of years ago I started having a lot of the same symptoms that you are having, and I was terrified. Initially my GP tried to tell me it was my fibromyalgia causing it all, but I finally had blood tests which showed that my B12 was extremely low. I had convinced myself that I had a brain tumour or something equally sinister, and drove myself into a state of almost perpetual panic. I did have an MRI because my GP then referred me to a neurologist in case there was anything else going on - it took 2 weeks for me to get the results (all clear).

I'm not suggesting that you have a B12 deficiency, just that it is one of many possible causes for the symptoms that you are having. Your mind has gone to worst case scenario, which is perfectly understandable. Try not to catastrophise in your head whilst you are waiting for your MRI results. I know that it's easier said than done because you feel powerless right now - save your energy and focus on positive things as much as you can.

I hope that your MRI result comes back soon, and that it's good news. Sending you a big hug.

I had an MRI earlier this year and I was told 2 weeks for results. I ended up getting them after about 12 days. However, my MRI was ordered for suspected cancer (which luckily I didn't have!) but that might have made it quicker, I'm not sure.

I hope you get results soon and they are good news.

I have almost identical symptoms since last September and my doctor simply won't book me in for an MRI following my bloods as he says these are all now common symptoms post covid/post vaccine and won't necessarily go away easily as it's nervous system damage- very helpful - I'm therefore saving up for an MRI privately . I'm 61 and he says primary MS is unlikely and usually involves falls, grip problemsetc - in fairness though the neurologist I saw said the same .

@Tylarae7 did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have almost identical symptoms and am waiting on an MRI
