Quick question about nits - how quickly do they lay their eggs?

Would it be feasible that DD could have spent half an hour playing with and cuddling my niece this morning (on whose head we discovered a nit) and by lunchtime have a head full of eggs? Just trying to work out whether she caught them from my niece or nursery.

Thanks

sounds like your dd could have picked them up in nursery and could ahve passed that nit on to your niece. My dd got them in the summer on holiday!! only time I didn't use tea tree shampoo on the kidds and she got nits. Took ages to get rid of them with some vile French nit stuff. Lots of picking them out with fingers though. Good luck! Try washing her hair in tea tree shampoo as they apparetnly can't stand the smell. Seems ot work for us.

Conditioner also helps as they can't cling to the hair.

Put lots in hair from scalp, comb it through with a nit comb wiping comb each time and that should help to get rid of them.

Lice lay around 6-7 eggs per day.
