Obese...

My BMI tells me I am obese. I am 5'9 and clothes size 16 .... BMI is 31. Anybody I say this to says don't be ridiculous you're not obese..... but I am right?! Technically I am obese even if I don't look it?

Does anybody actually take notice of their BMI? Surely it must mean something. I actually find myself worrying about it quite a bit

I'm very similar to you. BMI of 28.4, so not quite into the obese range, but not far off. I'm tall, and I carry my weight quite evenly on my hips, bottom and thighs (although recently it has started to go on my face more) and people are genuinely really surprised when I say how overweight I am.
I am paying attention to it, now that I'm mid 40's and peri meno, it's only going to get harder to shift.

It’s right but on its own it doesn’t tell you much about your health.

Yes I've definitely noticed any weight is getting harder and harder to shift. The joys!

I’ve got the same BMI. I have actually thrown the scales away as I was getting too focused on it all and it was making me miserable. I just focus on moving as much as I can, eating healthy etc. I am not going to beat myself up over a number.
