Which private consultant/specialist?

I have had low iron & low Vit D for about 18 months diagnosed via GP - the Vit d comes up with treatment but Iron is no better - the FIT test a year ago & scans of womb/kidneys and stomach ultrasound showed nothing abnormal.

This year when they suggested to repeat FIT I was not that keen as no real change in symptoms except fatigue & low iron and red blood cells so now anaemic.

My question is we have private health care but what specialist should I ask for a referral to? Knowing NHS is on its knees etc -

The reason for further tests is to rule anything more serious out & possibly get an iron transfusion & fatigue levels more efficiently.

Have you been tested for coeliac?

Haematology deal with anaemia & iron infusions so maybe they could do further tests.

@ThereIsAnEchoInHere celiac blood test was negative.

My last ferritin this week has come back as 4. GP appointment next week to follow up.

I will ask for injections or the iv of iron and if not a referral.

GP has all your medical history and test results. Ask them which type of specialist would be best to see.

Yes, ask GP, depending on the specialty you may need a letter of referral to see a private consultant.
