Dodgy mole

Hi,

Can anyone with a knowledge of moles give me an opinion on my moles please? I have two suspicious looking ones, genuinely only spotted them today (cover up most of the time) I do check them often and hadn't noticed any changes until today.

One has just changed on my back. But the one on my arm has changed and has a black raised patch and scaly texture, while it was smooth before.

I will be ringing the GP on Monday but just looking for some opinions

Thank you for any replies x

You are doing right in getting checked as soon as noticing any changes.
I have had a few moles removed including a very dodgy looking one with a fuzzy halo surround and some with black bits.

They were all fine.

Seconding the opinion of @DeerWatch. I would go so far as to say that if your GP minimises concern and you can afford to see a derm privately that might be a good idea.

DH didn’t like a mole on my back that the GP dismissed. Because I spent my youthful summers baking in the Mediterranean sun, I went for a private mole check. The derm also dismissed that mole but homed in on a nearby one that hadn’t raised our concerns. The pathology report classified it as something pretty likely to become a melanoma (as I read it with the help of the American Academy of Dermatology website). So I was glad it came off. Best £300 (roughly) I have ever spent.
