I need to have a longer ECG done as I have palpitations and my dad died of heart failure. I only finally went to the GP about them because I'm having a lot of them atm but I've had them since teenage hood (didn't know what they were).
So I've had a quick ECG and nothing showed because my palpitations stopped right before they ran it. I've been referred to cardiology for a longer one but it could be a couple months before I have that. It's now a constant niggle in my mind that something is wrong so I looked at getting a 24-72 hour ECG done privately but I want sure if it would do any good? If there was an issue and it took it to my GP would the process any faster or would I just have it hanging over my head till I got to the top of the cardiology list?
