Bruise hasn’t healed after 3 months, do I go to the GP?

I fell over around 3 months ago and landed on my knee. It bruised up pretty badly at the time, but went down after about a week. However, 3 months later I still have a faint shadow of a bruise under my knee and it hurts to kneel on it.

Is it common for some bruises to take ages to heal or should I go tot the GP in case I’ve damaged my knee?

It's not going to do any harm to make an appointment to discuss this with a GP

If it doesn't hurt I wouldn't worry. I get that if it's a really bad bruise. It's almost like all the layers get bruised and it takes weeks to work out.
