Haemorrhoids - HELP!

I've struggled on and off with haemorrhoids in my early 20s due to constipation. A better diet seemed to fix that issue, but during my 2nd pregnancy 5 years ago, I had a reaaaaally nasty flare up with the piles. I was in agony... Had to take time off work and begged the GP for steroid cream stronger than over the counter. After the birth, they seemed to calm down.

But they've been getting more and more of a nuisance over the last year. Large, uncomfortable, can feel unclean... 🙈😖😥 And this evening I've had a very nasty flare up and I'm so sore again.

I think I need to bite the bullet and go to GP for review/advice. I'm contemplating whether surgery would be an option.

Has anyone had this? How bad did it get before you were offered this? Was it worth it? Any advice welcomed.

Thank you.
