Baby cough

Obviously will go to the GP on Tuesday but can anyone offer their perspective? I have a 6 month old baby who has a cough. No temperature, no mucus just a couple of coughs before eating, after eating and before and after chuckling. No wheezing, no change in colour and no obvious distress. Has anyone else had a baby with something similar?

Has it been going on for ages?

If it’s just a recent thing you don’t need a GP, just sort out calpol/ vapour rub/ whatever yourself.

I wouldn't bother the GP unless it has been going on ages. Try elevating feet of cot so they're on a slight slope rather than flat and Vicks on the soles of feet under socks and calpol if they seem distressed but without mucus and a temp gp can't do much

I also wouldn't go to the GP with this. Unless it's been going on for ages, "a couple of coughs" before and after eating or laughing wouldn't worry me.
I also don't think the GP will do anything beyond say it's a virus and call back if it lasts weeks.

Thanks for the replies. It's been about a week, I was wondering if it might be pollen (his dad is having skin breakouts that we think is a heat/pollen reaction).
