Fatty lump by shoulder blade???

So months and months ago I noticed a slightly raised fatty lump by my shoulder blade, went to the docs and he checked it all and said it's nothing to be concerned about it's my muscle. Anyway it's not big (not noticeable by looking) but I've got health anxiety so now I've got myself in a state worrying about it again. Booked a GP app for Tuesday but has anyone else experienced this and what it could be. Also today it feels very bruised where I've prodded and poked it so much last night 🤦🏻‍♀️

Lipoma?

Sounds like it could be a lipoma which is literally fat cells that have gathered in one area

Agree with others. It is a benign cyst and nhs won't remove them unless they are painful or inhibit movement.

Thank u all, im hoping it's just that, it doesn't hurt at all, only today because I've poked it around so much it now feels bruised. Any little thing I get I worry 🙈 like I said I have actually been to the docs and he said it's fine, it's muscle but now my anxiety has got the better of me and I'm worried again!

Sounds like a lipoma to me.

Does sound like a benign lipoma. I've got one on my inner thigh that's basically stayed the same for decades. I doubt the NHS would remove it but occasionally they remove stuff. Best to monitor it & if it gets too big or uncomfortable then look into getting it sorted via a private dermatologist.

@CherryRipe1 thank you, the doctor that looked at it back in January was a dermatologist (we have one at our GP) and he said it's muscle and nothing concerning 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had one and posted on a thread a while ago. Had a scan, x ray and MRI scan. It turned out to be- a fatty lump! I was very nervous during the investigations in case it turned out not to be benign. Cannot fault Manchester Royal Infirmary for the investigations.

Dh had a lipoma on his shoulder blade. He ended up getting it removed because it was a couple of inches long - now has a nice scar

Agree it sounds like a lipoma. I have one in a similar place between the shoulder blades. Mine has stayed the same for ages & I’ve sort of got used to it!

Yes mine is top of my arm by the shoulder. I'm just really worrying, I wish it was Tuesday already 🤦🏻‍♀️ the more I poke it around the more sore and bruised it feels!
