Mole removal

I've got a brown mole on my face and a couple on my torso. They all stick out and are annoying and unsightly. How do I get them removed? Do I need to go to GP for a referral or will that need to be a private referral? They've bothered me for years- I would like to get rid of them but my GP's really hard to get an appointment with so wanted to check if that's the best place to start? Thanks!

It’s unlikely the NHS will remove, they have really cut down on the criteria. I would make an appointment with a dermatologist at my local private hospital.

Thank you for your response @Chewbecca. I have googled about getting it removed privately, I didn't know which place to pick or what option I would need. I'm not used to private healthcare and unsure how to recognise who is fairly priced and a good doctor. Do NHS GPs do referral for private mole removal so I'd at least know my GP should be sending me to a reputable place and could take the worry out of trying to choose?

They might, depending how helpful they are being, but often they just ask you who you want to see privately. Referrals from a GP are needed if you are going through insurance, you don’t need one if you are booking / paying direct.
Do you have anyone you can ask for a recommendation? A local FB page perhaps?
BUPA has profiles of all the Drs so you can at least see the volumes of procedures they do which can be helpful.

Go to the GP. I've had one removed on the NHS on my arm and my ds had one on his back removed last week. Doctor did try to imply it was mostly cosmetic but put him on the list and 10 weeks later it was done. Good luck.
