Osteoarthritis help

I've just been told I've got moderate osteoarthritis in my knee after lots of pain. Physio didn't really do much good and I currently just take painkillers when it gets really bad.
Are there any supplements that could possibly help?

I have it in my left knee and hip (right hip already replaced).

I use Boots Glucosamine & Chondroitin Duo 30s - Boots these tablets and they seem to help. They always show out of stock on line, but there are usually plenty on the shelves of larger branches.

I am actually thinking of pursuing a referral to get my knee injected with steroids now though, as 20 years of this shit is starting to piss me off.

I have arthritis and the Dr told me to take supplements with Glucosamine and Chondroitin in, I take Jointace ones which also have collagen in, They do seem to help. I also take the Tumeric supplements too.

I'm late 50s and have been suffering great pain for a year. Xrays showed osteoarthritis in both knees but worse in the right one, which also has some bone spurs. After moths of waiting I've finally got an appointment with the hospital muscular skeletal unit, though it's by video call so don't know how useful that will be. I'm fed up with not being able to walk or sleep, and the constant pain. I've only taken paracetamol and ibuprofen so far, so may try some of the medication suggested above.

Thanks for the suggestions. It's so painful but often I feel that it's written off as "Just being part of growing older" 😡

@SmirnoffIceIsNice

My GP gave me Naproxen 500mg, alongside Omeprazole 20mg. I don't take it every day, but when I know I'm going to be on my feet a lot that day. It helps Massively.

I got those same tablets @thenightsky but had to stop taking them as they made me nauseous.

Thanks for that. If my call with the MSK unit doesn't drive any treatment then I may approach the GP and ask about these drugs. Thank you.
