Low iron

I've been back and forth to my doctors for about 6 months now with severe tiredness resulting in difficulty doing everyday tasks and widespread pain. Originally diagnosed with a b12 deficiency and placed on injections once a month, levels went up no improvement in symptoms, then diagnosed with low vitamin d months later along with low folate. I've now been told my iron levels are low again so my serum iron is 4 and my ferritin 6. I started my tablets to up my iron a few days ago and it's left me feeling worse than ever before. Dizzy spells are massively worse and I've had a mild headache since starting them. Does anyone know if this is normal or can share a similar experience? Just finished the school run and genuinely thought I was going to faint in the play ground. Went weak and couldn't see straight almost as if I was drunk. Tia

I’ve never had this issue but Google confirms this can be the case. Side effects should be short lived.

However, I’d be pushing for investigations as to why you are deficient in everything. I am, but have another condition that can be linked.
Have you been checked for coeliac and thyroid issues?

I hope you feel better soon.

@ChicChicChicChicChicken thanks for getting back to me. That's reassuring then. Had a quick google search couldn't see anything really, I'll do a deeper search next time lol. My gp practice has been pretty rubbish with it all it seems to be taking a long time to get any answers and each gp has their own theory. Thyroid has been checked and is apparently fine and I'm in for another blood test next week that will apparently tell me if it's celiacs. It's all been very confusing, red blood count is above high reference limit which I thought would be effected by it all but apparently not. Fed up with feeling so exhausted and achey. And thank you ☺️
