Sleep apnoea (adult) investigations

Hi
just wondered whether someone who has been through the process can answer a question.
I was referred to sleep clinic and after 6mths got a letter to collect a sleep monitor for a night which I did. They said it will be 6 weeks til I receive the results.
Two weeks later I received an appointment at respiratory physiology in two weeks. Does this mean they found something or do they call you in for negative results too?
I suffer from health anxiety, I do know I should just wait and see.
Thanks

It likely means you have sleep apnoea ( as I do).

I use an APAP machine at night now and sleep so much better because of it…takes a little getting used to but I wouldn’t be without it now.

Take a look at No More Panic website with regards to health anxiety. There’s a whole board on there dedicated to it. I used to suffer really badly with it but no longer do.

Thanks Wilma, it just seemed really quick. Was the first appointment for more investigations or did they go straight for crap? I’ll definitely look up that HA site. Thanks again.

I'm going to collect a monitor to take home for my sleep study soon. Do the results take six weeks to come back or sooner? Do they send the results to GP or they contact you directly?
