Took dd to dentist for 6 month checkup last week.He said one of her permanent lower front teeth had not come through and the gap had closed. He said he didn't really know the implication of this although it wasn't normal but would ask one of his colleagues who knows more about orthoptics to see if she needs to be seen by someone else.
Both her dad and I had orthoptic treatment as children and her dads teeth are still poor and he had lots removed due to severe overcrowding.I was told by her previous dentist who was very good that we should try to hold on to her baby teeth as long as possible as it looked like she may have some overcrowding in the future.
Basically then, can anyone tell me the implications of the above and do I need to get her to see an orthoptist and if so who?Is there someone highly rated within the profession? Both her father and I are keen to prevent future problems bearing in mind he still has poor teeth/jaw alignment. We can get to London within an hour if required.
As you can see I'm a bit worried
