Cleaning shoes after fungal nail?

I had a fungal nail permanently removed last year (hooray!). I have some really nice expensive boots which I wore while still infected. What's the best way, in your experience, to rid them of fungus to prevent other nails getting infected?

Antifungal shoe spray?
I wish more people realised fungal nails spread! The amount of people that repeatedly ask for fungal nail treatments, but who are walking around with bare feet in their trainers, is unreal!
