Tick in my ear

I just found a tick in my ear 😬 it was in the outer folds rather than the ear canal, thank goodness. I picked it out thinking it was a scab before I realised what it was 🤢
Is there anything I need to do apart from being incredibly grossed out?? I've wiped some antiseptic and alcohol on the area where it was. It was still very small so it can't have been there long. I do live in the countryside but I've never had a tick on me before 😫

Make sure that the head parts haven't been left in your ear. As it wasn't removed properly, it's possible that bits may still be lodged there.

Personally id ask for doxycyline course symptoms or not. Lyme disease is no joke

Doxycycline*

Just monitor for temp or flu like symptoms. I live in a semi rural village in West Surrey, and pick them up in the garden! I have at least three or four attachments per season. I just use the same tick remover as the cat. It's a pain, and I was a bit worried for a while, but luckily I have very reactive skin so notice them quickly. DH had Lyme, he was really unwell, you definitely know if you've picked it up. He didn't get the rash either.

Thank you for all of this information, super helpful! My ear does feel a bit sore where it was but I'm not sure if it's psychological. I'll maybe have a chat with the doctor.
How would it even get in my ear?? I've always thought they tended to attach to lower legs or arms from long grass.
