Looking for tips/reassurance/comfort
I feel crap! Got diagnosed with VN almost 3 weeks ago after feeling super dizzy with vertigo and feeling like I was walking on a ship. I'd had a couple of vertigo spells in the months before but they just lasted a couple.of.minutes and was fine after so I kind of ignored it.
Can't ignore it now! I'm getting better but yesterday and today I feel nauseous and a but wobbly again. So so fed up, feel.like I'm not getting any better, been signed off work and I'm sat here all alone (share custody 50/50 with ex) catastrophising and being miserable.
If you've had it, how long did it take to go? Any tips to get it to hurry up and piss off?!

I'm watching with interest, I wonder if I may have this. I have an ENT referral in 3 weeks so hoping I might get some answers. It's horrible, isn't it? Hopefully someone with experience may be along to help.

@MumofLandD how are you now ? X

Hi, I am finally better, thank you. It took a.long time to go. The worst was the anxiety, which I ended having CBT for. My GP said I was emotionally andphysically so run down my body tried to stop. I was off work for a month and very wobbly going back.
I hope you are OK and that's not why you are asking?

I'm about 9 years into VN, and basically I just deal with it. I don't feel sick any more, just the lightheaded "drunk" feeling, and the ground isn't always where I expect it to be when I put my foot down. Weirdest thing is seeing things moving out of the corner of my eye, like the table suddenly tilting, or the dummies in the shop window who all kicked their leg up one after the other as I walked past!

I don't drive any more, which has meant a total re-evaluate of lifestyle, which is the only "visible to the outside world" symptom, as well as occasionally "losing" words when I have to wait till they "fall from my brain onto my tongue" which is the only way I can describe it.

AFAIK, it's quite extreme for symptoms to last as long as mine have, but I'm loads better than I was initially, and I'm now so used to the ones I have that I can pretty much ignore them

I should probably do the exercises more though!

Hello. I’ve had vestibular neuritis for nearly 6 months. I’m just wondering what your recovery looked like? I’m experiencing fluctuating symptoms now so Some good days some not so good days but the days that are a little worse are tolerable and I have more food days than bad. But it’s still there - ear pressure on and off, mild nausea at times but hardly ever recently, headaches but mild, dizziness - mild not so much a swaying feeling more just general dizzy but comes and goes. I am also really fatigued this last week even though I feel like im
improving. Anyway, looking for hope I suppose that full recovery will come soon. How long did yours take to go away? Did your recovery go like
mine is fluctuating symptoms and did it just get less and less each week ? Or did it just spontaneously resolve ?
thank u !
