Can you force start a period?

I am on day 28. My cycles are generally 25-26 days. Sometimes there is a random 32 day cycle thrown in to keep me on my toes.

I am going on holiday in 3 days. I really want to at least get the first two (heaviest) days of my period out if the way by then. Plus I feel bloated and horrible and just want to get on with it.

Are there any actual (as in medically proven) ways of getting your period started? Not just wearing white trousers 😂

I sometimes find having sex makes my period come on when it’s “threatening” to arrive… so get your sexy pants on (or off!) tonight?

You can get tablets from your GP to delay your period for holidays. Seems like that would be easier.

Lots and lots of orgasms.

That’s actual science, not just pervery.

Saxendastarter · 27/04/2023 08:13

I find cream trousers work as well as white ones. Especially if they are new and you’re sitting on a very expensive light voiliers sofa of someone you don’t really know but want to impress.

Sorry OP I’d like to have better advice - but I do echo PP in saying that sex can bring on a period a few days earlier for me and this might not be the most medically sound advice but in a pinch I also take an aspirin and have a hot shower or bath.

i Hope that whatever happens you manage to have a lovely holiday.

I used to find that getting shit faced on cheap cider usually worked.
Having said that, awful hangover and severe period pains weren’t a great combination

Sex works here, the vigorous kind, it arrives maybe 5-6 hours later.
Sometimes I’ll have crampy drawn out build ups and once it gets going that stops, so if that’s happening I’ll insist on sex as a medical need 🤣

Put clean sheets on your bed. It never fails for me.

Thanks for the replies! Not sure I can bring myself to have sex today 😂 I feel quite rubbish but hopefully that means it is imminent.

My period has form for arriving on special occasions- the past 3 holidays (including on a long haul flight). It even decided to appear on my wedding day.

Ask your GP to prescribe tranexamic acid. Mine are very heavy and it reduces it to next to nothing.

@Killerqveef ypu don’t have to have sex with someone else … could you find time to have a nice bath or shower and then a “nap” for some me time alone?

If not - maybe a lot of yoga stretches ?
